Our History
The Barracudas Sports Club is situated in San Pawl il-Bahar, in the area known as Tal-Veccia. The Club was founded in 1977 and for many years it participated in the national water polo league. In 1991 it won the Second Division league and in subsequent years it competed in the top division together with local water polo giants Sliema, Neptunes, Sirens and San Giljan. In recent years the Club did not continue to take part in the national league due to lack of resources. Today the Club’s objective is to promote amateur water polo particularly among those who have a busy schedule and cannot afford to train everyday.
The Club organises swimming and water polo training sessions at the National Pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the months of May and June. Between the first week of July and mid-September, the training sessions are held more frequently at the Club’s own water polo pitch in San Pawl il-Bahar. These training sessions are free of charge to all participants.
The Club is registered with KMS (Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport) and is affiliated to the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and to MUSC (Malta University Sports Club).
